Mumbai, August 13, 2025 — Bollywood fans can rejoice as director Amit Rai has confirmed that the much-loved satirical franchise Oh My God is set to return with its third installment, OMG 3. The announcement comes with the assurance that Akshay Kumar will not only reprise his role but also serve as a producer for the film.
Speaking to the media, Rai revealed that “kaam chal raha hai” (work is underway) and the script is being fine-tuned to match the sharp wit and socially relevant themes that made the first two films so popular. Production is expected to move into full swing later this year, with a theatrical release planned for next year.
The OMG series has carved a niche in Bollywood for its bold commentary on religion, superstition, and society—wrapped in humor and drama. The first installment (2012) was lauded for its fresh take on blind faith, while OMG 2(2023) tackled issues around sexual education, sparking nationwide discussion.
While details about the plot remain under wraps, industry insiders suggest OMG 3 will follow the franchise’s tradition of tackling a contemporary social issue with a blend of satire, emotion, and entertainment.
With Akshay Kumar’s star power and Amit Rai’s storytelling, expectations are sky-high. Fans are already speculating whether the film will push boundaries even further—something both actor and director have hinted at in recent interviews.
As anticipation builds, OMG 3 is shaping up to be one of the most awaited Bollywood releases of 2026.
