German Influencer Younes Zarou Creates Buzz in India with Public Gathering and Social Experiment

German content creator Younes Zarou has made headlines in India following two recent viral incidents.

During a visit to Church Street in Bengaluru, Zarou’s social media announcement attracted thousands of fans, causing a massive crowd to gather. The situation raised public safety concerns, prompting police intervention. Officers escorted Zarou away in a police vehicle, briefly detaining and later releasing him with a warning. Authorities cautioned him against hosting spontaneous public meet-ups without prior permission, citing safety risks and referencing past tragedies. Responding on Instagram, Zarou wrote, “Bengaluru is not for beginners. Thanks to the police chief, without him I think I would be somewhere else now.”

Separately, Zarou went viral for a social experiment in Kerala, where he left his iPhone unattended on a roadside for 90 minutes to test India’s safety. To his surprise, the phone remained untouched. The video garnered millions of views, sparking debate—while some praised Kerala’s safety, others questioned the authenticity of the experiment or suggested he tried it in the “wrong part of India” for a true test.
